INCOME INEQUALITY AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS
Chinua Adeoye , Department of Economics, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, NigeriaAbstract
These articles investigate the relationship between income inequality and economic growth in the context of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Using empirical methods and data from SSA countries, this study examines the impact of income inequality on various measures of economic growth, including gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, productivity, and human development indices. The analysis considers both the theoretical mechanisms underlying this relationship and the empirical evidence from SSA countries. The findings contribute to the understanding of the dynamics between income inequality and economic growth in the region, offering insights for policymakers and researchers.
